Advanced Technology. Surgeon-Led Care.

Mako SmartRobotics™ combines advanced imaging, personalized surgical planning, and robotic-arm assisted technology to support selected hip and knee replacement procedures.

A Plan Informed by Your Anatomy

Mako uses a CT-based 3D model to help the surgeon review a patient's anatomy and plan implant size, position, and alignment before surgery.

During the procedure, AccuStop™ haptic technology provides visual, auditory, and tactile feedback that helps the surgeon guide the cutting tool within planned boundaries.

Your Surgeon Remains in Control

Mako supports the surgeon's plan. It does not perform surgery on its own.

Dr. Mistry directs the procedure, makes clinical decisions, and determines which treatment may fit your diagnosis, health, imaging, and goals.

How Mako Works

Mako technology supports three important stages of the surgical planning and procedure process.

1

Scan

A CT scan is used to create a 3D model that helps the surgeon see the patient's anatomy.

2

Plan

The surgeon uses the model to plan implant size, position, and alignment.

3

Guide

During surgery, AccuStop™ haptic technology provides feedback to help guide the cutting tool within planned boundaries.

Is Mako Right for You?

Mako is one part of a complete surgical evaluation. Your surgeon will review your symptoms, imaging, overall health, and treatment goals before discussing whether hip or knee replacement is appropriate and whether Mako may be used.
